Puff Terrariums has been established since 2010 now and so far we have received a lot of questions regarding who we truly are.

Well…Puff Terrariums is operated by two members, Calvin and Karen (aka Calren as our friends like to call us).

To trace how Puff began, it all started back in mid-2012 when Calvin wanted to look for some greenery to freshen up his office table. However, none of the plant he brought to the office really survived the harsh dry office environment, not to mention the limited sun and care he can provide for the plants.

While they search online for a solution, they came across the “plant in a sealed jar” idea ( aka “terrarium”!).

Puff! It is not hard to imagine what happened from this point onward.

Very soon, their flat filled with all types of jars and terrariums and their only option was well…to sell them! (With the online shop set up, the number of terrariums isn’t lowering!)

Then the idea of setting up an online shop immerged. First came their brand name “Puff Terrariums”. The name “Puff” was chosen over countless of other names because it really is the best word to describe their creations. “Puff!” and an imaginary world is created. Each one of our terrariums is made with love and care and has a life of its own.

After came the logo on a Sunday afternoon. We wanted something that was simple and yet was able to express what a terrarium was. Loads of logos were drafted, but in the end we decided that the simple sketch of a terrarium jar did the job.

Thanks to our friends and families’ support, you can now not only find them through online platforms, but from time to time they will also appear at various weekend markets.



They hope that they can one day establish their very own Puff Terrariums shop somewhere in the upper Soho district and grow their brand and share their own piece of imagination with all the Puff fans out there.
